Well, first of all, you've got to stop focusing on your flaws and looking at yourself as ';cursed'; with a ';burden.'; So you have acne. Big deal. Everyone has flaws. But the good things about you surely outweigh the bad, especially when it's something as superficial as acne. Make a list of good things in your life: talents, friends, accomplishments, etc. You'll be surprised how many things are going good for you.
But above all, don't listen to those people who judge you because of something you can't do anything about. So what if they don't like you? They can go play in traffic. The thing you need to focus on is whether or not YOU like you. If you do, then other people will too.

ok first of all, God created u beautiful with smooth blemishless skin.
and second,scars will go away in like 1 or 2 years, meanwhile use ProActive. Dont expect immediate result, give it at least 2 months, you'll see improvement. And if you want something to cover up the scars, 1st use mineral make up as your foundation, then get one of those Maybelline Mousse foundation, it builds up good coverage.
n btw if you wanna lose the scars immediately and willing to pay loads -%26gt; laser. But it's like a bet though, if it works then it'll look great,scars will be gone in like 4 months. First of all, having these scars may be helpful to you. You can be sure that the people who do befriend you love you for who you are. I bet you've heard that or told yourself that a million times though. So I say go to a nice makeup store, like Sephora so you can be sure of the quality. Ask one of the clerks there to help you out, they are very good at applying make up and will know just how to help you. Good luck!

If you want a companion, think about that you are who you are, and that its the best you can be. you are the best you if your happy with yourself. I have scars on all parts of my body...a pretty big one on the back of my thigh too...but i dont hide it, i wear shorts all the time. its part of what I look like. If you dont let your 'curse' bother you, people will see that and love you for you.
...and just to say, if you want people to not notice your scars as bad, keep attention on something else on your body. Like have really amazing hair that just looks really good on you...or wear really nice, clothes...or have a really great, nice personality. It will keep the attention off of you scars and they will see you for you are, not the scars you have. :)

Hair is a huge defining characteristic and no one realizes how important it is until you loose it. So honey I can relate but I tell you, if it wasn't for God I don't know what I would do. Acne isn't God's doing but I promise you this, whatever it takes you to be driven to him is ultimately a good thing for you. This is why we see so many shallow, rude and empty people when it comes to being attractive or rich b/c it is in our stress and challenges that we look and find God. I had a few scars on my face (also on my cheeks) in high school from acne (10 years ago) and put Vitamin E on them since my mum insisted, and it worked then. It'll probably take a few months-there's no quick fix.

I continued using the oil every day and the scars just disappeared. Although my scars aren't raised, they were smooth and already healed. The vitamin E oil also made my skin extremely smooth! I have oily skin too. My face gets shinny so quickly after I wash it. But I don't have pimples. The only problem with me is lots of dark blackheads. I hate that.
The only way I know of to remove acne scars is to have skin resufacing or an acid peel. It will take more than one treatment and I have heard that it can be painful. Consult your local dermatologist for information about the procedure and other options that may be available.

I have oily skin too. My face gets shinny so quickly after I wash it. But I don't have pimples. The only problem with me is lots of dark blackheads. I hate that.
The only way I know of to remove acne scars is to have skin resufacing or an acid peel. It will take more than one treatment and I have heard that it can be painful. Consult your local dermatologist for information about the procedure and other options that may be available.

to prevent acne you must get a lot of sleep never stay late at night wash your face atleast twice a day with a facial soap and also stress can also be a cause of acne so just relax.
I know this will probably sound crazy, but lemon juice helps clear up any scars or uneven skin tone. It takes a while before you see results but I've seen it work. An added bonus is that the lemon juice will minimize the oil build-up on your face.

I had problems with acne for my entire life. So I finally took Accutane which cleared up most of the breakouts, although I get a spot here and there. But my skin still does not look nice because of the scarring. It is not smooth or very even looking. How can I improve the appearance of my skin? How to get rid of acne/blemishes/scars fast?
Ok i have bad acne. Really bad on my cheeks. And some acne on my forehead and chin. Im on spring break and i wanna try to do anything to get this acne gone or at least under control before april 13th. Any advice/home remedies/cleansing products is highly appreciated!

I have a few things perhaps you could try using retin- a form substance on your face and putting it on the scars and leaving it on for a few hours like when you sleep if your not a tosser in bed it worked for me another thing is after you get one put neospirin on it to help the skin heal correctly lastly the thing that helped me the most is bleaching fading cream you can get at walmart or a similar store it works wonders i used to get rid of my scars in no time about 2-3 weeks maximum time... I don't really break out anymore cuz of seeing a derm but the fading cream costs about 2-3 bucks and it lasts awhile i have no red marks on my face any longer ... however in case your super worried on average the red marks heal completely and are gone in a matter of 6 months on average... so don't work as long as they are not indented in your skin you should be fine if your that concerned go to a dermatologist the sooner you get on a medicine the better cuz lets face it ever pimple leaves its red mark behind... good luck

good product won't dry out your skin - but you can't get that in a grocery store -

What has anyone used to reduce the look of acne scars? Mine are mostly on my cheeks, and somewaht of a dark red. I can't wear concealer because even if it matches my skin tone, it shows when my face flushes (which happens a lot) and I like just wearing plain foundation anyways. I don't think acne scars ever fade.
Scars usually appear if you pick at the acne.
You will be left with scars if you pick at them-not matter what color they are.
Trying any kind of good moisterizer helps.
Or simple face cleaner-no matter where the acne is.
Acne forms because of dirty, clogged skin pores.
the color may go away in about 2 weeks but the scar itself will be with you forever ... dont pick at your acne ... and dont touch your face....hands are so dirty and then when you touch your face that dirt goes into the pours in your face!
if there is a certain scar u dont like u can get something called mederma, its supposed to lighten scars but ive never used it.i have used vitamin e out on a scar and it worked pretty good.if u have face scars from acne u can use a lotion on ur face daily that has vitamin e in it.it wont be a dramatic change over nite but it heals your skin...goodluck, hope i helped!!!

Best way to clear acne and scars?
I have heard of lots of ways to help acne and like everyone else, trying to find the best way.
Lately i have been using differin for 8 weeks now. It is working ok...however my scars remain from cysts which have gone away like...2 weeks ago -.-'; . I also hear from people that if you stop using dufferin for even maybe one day, you break out worse or so.
So... i have some ideas on how to help but...i need to know if either of them are good ideas or not. (if not, can you recommend a better way?)
1. For acne: I heard that baking soda and water together as a paste is great for exfoliating the skin. So my question is, can i exfoliate my skin this way, rinse then apply differin?
2. For scars: Do the same as part 1, but instead of applying differin i apply aloe vera. My question for this one is, seeing as i stated that stopping differin may cause a huge breakout, is it ok to quickly switch to aloe vera to get rid or scars? Will cysts and/or pimples break out on these areas again?
Are these good ways to help? If they're not, are there any better ways to clear scars and acne?

Okay now make sure you use just enough to cover the under-eye contour area , T-zone area and any other area needing attention! ;)
I'd use a cotton wool or Face pad (same thing) then pour a suitable amount onto the face pad/cottonwool and gently rub in circular movements until you feel a burning lke sensatiuon ( no worries it won't make your skin red PROMISE!)
However just incase IF you are allergic to it or have any side affects for what ever reason discontinue use immediately!

Here is another tip put half apple cidar and half water and put a penny in it for 24 hours then take the penny out and it will help posin ivy..first you scratch the posin ivy open and then take cotton and dab it and it will go away and no more itch..
Plus this works on sunburns too. takes sting out.
Okay, I'm always curious about a no-fail item. I'll try it for 10 days, I'll get back to you with the results. (I don't have any scars, but a couple of wrinkles (AKA laugh lines?), have snuck up on me).

i had microderms on my face and chest, but i broke out! especially my chest. i have lots of acne and scars now, and by lots i mean lots, no exxageration... the room and the aesthetician are clean, as far as my observation is concerned. my aesthetician said i should try glycolic peel next time. im going to attend a wedding in a month, so i think i will only get to have 1 session of this peel before the wedding. does anybody know if glycolic peel will help me reduce the acne and scars in just a short time and in just 1 peel?Glycolic peel for chest acne and scars...?
You can use Accutane... if you don't care about your liver and whether it continues to work or not.
Glycolic peels are fine for occasional use, but if you over-use them they can actually prematurely age your skin.
If you want to do something that will help lesions heal faster, ask your esthetician to use the pinpoint high frequency electrode on them. About 30 seconds per lesion really speeds healing. If you have too many to pinpoint individually, your esthetician can use the mushroom electrode.
I also recommend you do enzymatic peels. They are safer than 20% glycolic (for frequent use) and just as effective. They also help reduce inflammation and speed healing of any lesions. A great peel to use is powdered green papaya (papain enzyme) or bromelain (from capsules).
I have had tremendous success with preventing/treating acne with these proteolytic enzymes. Enzymes like bromelain are cheap and easy to find just about anywhere (TwinLabs is a good brand that is widely distributed) and the green papaya powder can be found online.
You will also want to think about what is CAUSING your acne, and what you can do to address it. Many times it is more about what's going on inside your body or with your diet that is the cause, not poor hygiene or bad skin care products.

If you want to do something that will help lesions heal faster, ask your esthetician to use the pinpoint high frequency electrode on them. About 30 seconds per lesion really speeds healing. If you have too many to pinpoint individually, your esthetician can use the mushroom electrode.
I also recommend you do enzymatic peels. They are safer than 20% glycolic (for frequent use) and just as effective. They also help reduce inflammation and speed healing of any lesions. A great peel to use is powdered green papaya (papain enzyme) or bromelain (from capsules).
I have had tremendous success with preventing/treating acne with these proteolytic enzymes. Enzymes like bromelain are cheap and easy to find just about anywhere (TwinLabs is a good brand that is widely distributed) and the green papaya powder can be found online.
You will also want to think about what is CAUSING your acne, and what you can do to address it. Many times it is more about what's going on inside your body or with your diet that is the cause, not poor hygiene or bad skin care products.
More than likely you are sensitive to gluten and soy, and perhaps some other common food allergens as well. I personally am sensitive to gluten and will break out like crazy within a few days of a significant exposure.

I'm sorry I don't know, but I have the same problem and I'm not using any scrubs at all. My forehead has these purplish parts which is where I think some spots were and I only pop mine when fully white too, but in answer to you're question no I don't think it's the scrub.

Bronzer really isnt the starter for something like that. You would need to get some sort of concealer that matches your skin tone. Almay smart shade makeup is really good. You pick the color that matches your skin as close to perfect as you can get or if you want one a tad darker and that will help cover scars or acne. You should check out Sephora.com also they have really awesome concealers. It can get a little pricey, but their products last forever and work really good! Hope that helps you!

There's a ton of shades so I'm sure you'll find one that matches you:) And I'd apply it with a stippling brush. I personally use the MAC 187 but it's pretty pricey and there's a lot of drugstore alternatives. I heard Target has a pretty good one. You can also use a flat-top brush like the ELF powder brush from their studio line. That's got to be my favorite brush ever:) You can look on Youtube and see how other people apply it/think of it if you haven't already. hope i helped!

Getting a tan doesn't help - when you darken your skin, it almost burns out the redness of the scars or actual acne, but once the tan starts to soften after a few days, the scars are even worse, especially if you did not put on an adequate amount of sunscreen.
Here's some suggestions, as I am suffering acne (and those pesky scars) myself, but over time, my acne and scars have disappeared greatly.
- Don't pop acne to begin with, especially cysts (those painful big fat zits)
- Drink 6-8 cups of water a day (drinking water helps excrete toxins from your body the natural way more easily, instead of forcing them out through your skin)
- Vitamin E helps a lot. Take those vitamins twice a day.
- Cocoa Butter isn't exactly NOT prone to getting more acne, but it helps the scars.
- Lemons. The natural acids help fade away scars quite well.
- Vinegar. Some people say it helps.
- Lavender. A lot of nurses and therapists suggest this. Smells good, too.
- Honey. This sugary, thick, gooey mess is for biscuits, you might think, and it might make acne worse, but actually, it has stuff in it that dry out acne, fade away scars, etc. Pretty amazing.
- Doctors say that eating certain foods doesn't necessarily affect acne and acne scars, but who the heyl believes that? Lower your intake of fried foods, chocolate, fatty substances, etc.
- Be good to your body. Who knows what millions of things we do to our bodies, and sometimes without even realizing! Tattoos, illnesses, chemical exposure, drugs, oily makeup, not washing your face regularily, etc. affect your skin.
- And the number one thing? Be patient. If you're in the midst of puberty, it's going to be a hard battle. I had this (and chest acne) BAD when I was an adolescent...how old are you? If you're going through puberty...you will just have to wait it out, and get a good back scrubber with a handle and make sure to wash your back good everyday with it and a good non-drying soap...drying soaps tend to make it worse...and everytimre you sweat a lot. I have some acne scars, that arn't bad ...but are like little indents or pits. not very deep or large. i can see that they are surface scars and do not extend deep into the epidermis. But its kinda hard to cover the uneveness with makeup, and i have sensitive skin so i cant use very thick coverage like MAC.

Honestly, foundation is the worst care for your face. You need to buy daily face lotion that evens out your skin tone and they also have cream for acne scars. But do not wear foundation. It clogs all your pores and causes acne. If anything use powder. If you can't live without foundation, try bare mineals. They advertise it on television. I love mineral based make-up. I get the most compliments when I wear it and it makes my skin look more flawless that any other type of foundation and powder.

But it isn't a liquid foundation. It is just a powder that acts as both. I was skeptical that it would be just like powder and not really stick or cover very good but boy was I wrong! It's awesome. Plus you can just buy one of their concealer sticks and use one of their concealer brushes to apply it then put on their mineral powder foundation. I would suggest buying the ';try me kit'; and then buy the concealer and a concealer brush separately since the try me kit doesn't contain them. It's a little pricey but totally worth it! Good luck!!

If you don't get a kit with the concealer brush, make SURE to buy it though, because it's the key to covering up scars and blemishes.
I have a reccomendation for the scarring: MD Forte glycolic acid face wash, and one of the glycolic lotions as well. They will help smooth your skin out alot, and a bottle will last at least 6 months as you only need a little morning and night. You can buy these or similar products on many websites such as skinstore.com I suggest the MD forte line because I have tried several and theirs are good concentrations of glycolic acid and ph balanced enough to work but not be overly irritating.

Does anyone know of any acne scar removal products that are NOT tested on animals. I know there are many that don't but does anyone have any recommendations of which product is the best? Preferably one I can buy at a store and not online.... thanks

Chest Acne and Scars -- Need help ASAP!?
ok so here's the thing. i have terrible chest acne and back acne and have had both for about 2 years. while it is mostly scars now, its equally embarrassing. in about a week, all of my friends from school and i are going down to the beach for a week. nobody knows about my skin condition, and while its easy to say ';if they dont accept you, they arent your real friends';, i cant help but be extremely worried about theyre opinions. i know they would never say something to me about it, but i dont want to be the different one there. now i have lost 40 pounds since the beginning of the year and am in the best shape of my life, but my scars are just a reminder that there are some things i cant control, and it really hurts my self esteem. can someone please give me suggestions for what to do, im desperate... any type of cover up or what not, just please help me..Chest Acne and Scars -- Need help ASAP!?

Disgusting acne and scars?
My face is so disgusting that everytime i look in the mirror i start crying, and its that bad. And there is absolutely NO way i could boost my self-confidence up, because that was flushed down the toilet. I really wanna get rid of all these nasty scars, and pimples. I am going to the dermatologist March 4th, but i feel like that is TOO long, and i dont wanna wait. I am a 14 year old girl. Would i be able to get a laser treatment, and what exactly is a microdermabrasion? details would be nice.

my acne is now going mild but the scars are terrible.
my acne was so bad until i was on the bc pill for six months and at the same time i was using others pills for acne.
it worked but brown marks were terrible..i recently started using the bio oli ...can get in it any pharmacy,just ask.
and after just i think 6 days i am using the bio oil i see a difference.
laser treatment is usually not possible until 18 years of age,in the UK.
also i have no idea what will tighten pores that are so bad...like mine already are terrible :/

bcoz i liturally used everything on the shelves of shops and facials did not work..nothing worked and i usd all the naturals too...inc lavender,lemon,tea tree,honey etc etc..
it took me over 3 years to get over all this..

the best shyt for zits is witch hazel. dont USE SOAP OR CLEANSER!!! exfoliate, then use witch hazel. it balances oil.
then, after you've picked use TEA-TREE OIL. u can get it at health food store. u may want to dilute it w olive oil.
put it on picked zits and they get NO WORSE.. they heal faster.
use cocoa butter for moisture.
i had bad acne, these things work and are cheap.
get Clearasil vanishing cream thing... it gets rid of pimples and scars in days(It burns though)..., buy a dual action moisturizer for acne prone skin..
and buy oil free cleansers!!
You can use skin lightening creams to help get rid of the scars.
